What does Estate Jewelry mean?

Estate jewelry is a term used to describe previously owned jewelry. This jewelry can be acquired from estates or jewelry that has been sold and is sometimes antique or vintage in nature. Antique jewelry is jewelry that is 100 years old or older, while the term “vintage” includes many decades or eras.

What is Antique Jewelry?

Antique Jewelry is jewelry which is 100 years old or more.

What is Signed Jewelry?

Signed Jewelry is jewelry that has a hallmark from a noted jewelry firm such as Tiffany, Harry Winston, Cartier, etc. Original documents, receipts, or boxes will add to the value.

Do you sell new pieces?

Yes. Majority of the jewelry we sell at EstateFineJewelry.com is pre-owned, however sometimes we will offer new pieces. New jewelry will be clearly marked and included in the NEW category.

Why is my white gold turning yellow?

Pure gold in its raw 24K state comes out of the ground yellow. Whitening alloys are added to give white gold its signature color. For example, in an 18K ring, 18 parts are gold and 6 parts are alloys. Over time, white gold can "change" and take on a slightly yellow tint. Periodic coatings of rhodium, a white metal from the platinum family, will revive the original bright white of your white gold jewelry. Remember, if you purchase your white gold jewelry from Estate Fine Jewelry, rhodium plating is part of our restoration process.
